Mako top out seaworld orlando

Construction is well underway way at SeaWorld Orlando as Mako, the new hypercoaster opening this summer, begins to take shape along the Orlando skyline.

The coaster was “topped off” yesterday as cranes put the tallest point of the structure – the tracks of its signature 200-foot tall hill – into place. When it opens, Mako will be Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster, reaching speeds of 73 mph along 4,760 feet of track. The ride will be the centerpiece of a two-acre, shark-themed realm in the park.

Guests visiting SeaWorld Orlando can continue to witness the rise of the massive steel track over the next few months as construction continues to build this hypercoaster, a type of coaster known for high speeds and steep drops, and hills that create a feeling of weightlessness or “air time.”
