Marvel Comics celebrates 70th anniversary of The Muppets in new comic book variant covers
The Muppets continue to celebrate their 70th anniversary by taking over iconic Marvel Comic covers, out in October.
Enter the MCU… The Muppet Comic Universe.
It seems The Muppets have a “Rainbow Connection” to the Marvel Comics universe via the Bifrost. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Muppets, Kermit and the gang will appear on 10 variant covers on select Marvel comic books releasing in October. These covers pay homage iconic covers across Marvel history, drawn by leading Marvel artists.
The first batch of covers was revealed in July 2025, with another round announced on Sept. 3, 2025.
The Muppets have been known to take a crack at pop culture over their 70 years in the spotlight, making this another delightful moment in their history. Parodied stories include the first appearance of Spider-Man and the original Secret Wars. Watch as Miss Piggy wields the Infinity Gauntlet and The Electric Mayhem assemble as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. This is exactly the foolishness we like to see!
