Mine Blower, a new wooden roller coaster, is set to open at Fun Spot America in Kissimmee on June 23, 2017.

The coaster, designed by The Gravity Group, will be the only wooden roller coaster in the Southeast United States with a 360 degree barrel roll. This will be Fun Spot America’s second wooden coaster. White Lightning opened at their Orlando park in 2013.

2017 Season Pass Holders should have received an email to be one of the first people to ride on the 23rd. Day guests can buy just a ticket to ride or a wristband that allows unlimited rides all day. More information at Fun-Spot.com.

  1. Mine Blower looks like a very promising new for 2017 coaster. So far, King’s Island has opened Mystic Timbers, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has opened InvadR, and Playland’s Castaway Cove has opened GaleForce. Hopefully SeaWorld San Antonio is getting close to opening Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster.

I believe the 4D Free Fly and Skyrocket II models have produced clones. I can see GaleForce and Mine Blower getting cloned too.

2018 will prove to be interesting. Already confirmed and/or semi-confirmed are… Electric Eel at SeaWorld San Diego, Mack Xtreme spinning coaster at Silver Dollar City, RMC Hurler at King’s Dominion, and RMC Mean Streak at Cedar Point. Knott’s Berry Farm is favored to get a new coaster, with the recent removal of Boomerang. Six Flags usually announces the next season plans the Thursday before Labor Day (August 31 this year). We’re still waiting for other Cedar Fair parks, Premier Parks chain, other Herschend Family Entertainment parks, Disney and Universal parks, and independent parks to make their announcements.
