Moonmania coming to Six Flags St. Louis July 16 to celebrate Apollo 11

Guests visiting Six Flags St. Louis can experience an out-of-this-world event with Moonmania, a celebration of the first Moon landing, running from July 16-20.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, the park is offering a galaxy full of activities in the Palace Gardens area.

Check out the lineup below:

Howl at the Moon – July 16, 9:30-10:30 p.m.

Join guests in celebrating the full moon by howling at it after hours. Attendees can enjoy extra ride time of American Thunder and Moon Cars, as well as take a bite out of complimentary Mini Moon Pies.

Endangered Wolf Center – July 16, 1-5 p.m.

Learn more about these howling animal friends as animal caretakers teach guests about wolf pelts, why wolves howl, and give out coupons to visit the Endangered Wolf Center.

Astrologer – July 16-17, 2-7 p.m.

Guests can share their birthday and time of birth with an astrologer to help make sense of their inner thoughts and feelings.

“Space Jam” Dive-in Movie  – July 17, 7:30 p.m.

Head over to Hurricane Harbor as it reopens at 7:30 p.m. for a showing of “Space Jam” at 8:30. Guests can watch the film in the Wave Pool, meet their favorite Looney Tunes characters and more.

VR Space Experience – July 18-29, 1-6 p.m.

Come try out one of the park’s two virtual reality experiences, Apollo 11 and Star Chart. Apollo 11 is a VR experience that recreates mankind’s journey to the Moon, and Star Chart lets guests explore the solar system and view constellations.

Moon Pie Eating Contest – July 18-20, 3:30 p.m.

Guests who want to participate can sign up between 1-3 p.m., with names drawn at 3 p.m. and the contest beginning at 3:30 p.m. on the Palace Porch.

Lunar Landing Bar – July 16-20, all day

Guests can check out this limited-time bar in the Palace Gardens all day from July 16-20. The bar will offer special brews like Schlafly that will only be available during the Moonmania event.
