I just returned from Downtown Disney where they were securing the new hot air balloon down for the night.

Characters in Flight should be operating in the next couple of weeks. As you’ll see below, the former information building is now where you’ll buy tickets to ride up to 400 feet in the tethered balloon. The cost, including tax, is $16 per adult and $10 per child.

Once at the top, guests will be able to see 10-mile panoramas on clear days. The 72-foot-diameter balloon can lift up to 30 guests at a time on a six-minute ‘’flight,’’ by day or night. Disney has had a similar balloon at Disneyland Paris for the past four years.
