Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) is offering “Pay for a Day, Rest of Year Free” Discovery Passport ticket deals starting Saturday, July 2.

Parents in the Tampa Bay area looking for a cost-effective way to stay cool this summer may want to look into the new “Pay for a Day, Rest of Year Free” Discovery Passport ticket deal at Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI), which debuts on Saturday, July 2.

Starting July 2, 2016, guests who purchase regularly priced MOSI general admission will get a new Discovery Passport, giving them free unlimited admission to MOSI through the end of 2016. Guests can buy a Discovery Passport right now at MOSI.ORG to use when they visit on July 2 or later. The Discovery Passport includes shows in the Florida Hospital IMAX DOME Theatre and the Saunders Planetarium, plus unlimited use of MOSI’s 450 hands-on exhibits, including the only driverless car open to the public in the U.S.

Because a ticket bought in the summer now lasts into the winter, MOSI is throwing a Polar Beach Party to kick off the new discount. On the first two weekends in July, enjoy an air-conditioned beach inside MOSI! Bound around in bounce houses, lounge on a simulated shoreline, and play in a flurry of real falling snow. The Polar Beach Party is included with admission and runs July 2-4 and July 9-10.

“If you’ve been thinking about coming to MOSI, now’s the time!” MOSI President & CEO Molly Demeulenaere said. “We have a huge worldwide experience planned for this summer that we’ll be announcing soon, an incredible new multi-million-dollar exhibit opening this fall, and an amazing new IMAX movie coming later this year. All of it is included with your new Discovery Passport. Just pay for a day and the rest of the year is free!”

Guests also save money on a full MOSI membership this summer. With MOSI’s IMAX Summer Special, starting July 2, guests get up to $31 off the price of a full one-year Explorer membership, which includes unlimited MOSI admission and unlimited standard films in the Florida Hospital IMAX DOME Theatre for twelve months.

A full MOSI membership also features other benefits not available with the new Discovery Passport, including free parking, discounts, special member-only events, and free or discounted admission to more than 20 local attractions and hundreds of children’s museums and science centers worldwide.

The new “pay for a day, rest of year free” discount deal is available for the normal full ticket price of $26.95 for adults, $25.95 for seniors (60+), and $20.95 for children (3-12). No other discounts will apply. The Discovery Passport is not valid for free admission on Sept. 3-5, Nov. 24-27, and Dec. 26-31. The Discovery Passport is different from a MOSI membership and does not offer any of MOSI’s member benefits; guests should visit the MOSI ticket office or MOSI.ORG for more details.

For a limited time, the Explorer full MOSI membership is $99 for a Dual membership (regularly $125), $149 for a Party of 5 membership (regularly $180), and $199 for a Party of 8 (regularly $210). Current MOSI members can renew their memberships during the IMAX Summer Special to have twelve months of Explorer membership (formerly called “PLUS IMAX” membership) added onto the end of their current membership period at the discounted rate.
