Mouseketeers who once performed in the band, The Party, took to the stage in Orlando to pay homage to their former roles, and to celebrate with a 30th Anniversary Reunion concert at the Disney Springs House of Blues.
Fans of the Mickey Mouse Club were treated to a night of nostalgia as four of The Party’s founding members — Albert Fields, Chasen Hampton, Deedee Magno Hall, and Damon Pampolina — performed songs that made them famous in their younger years.
Along with popular tunes from the band’s original four albums, they also played their recently released single, “Party People.”
Joining them on stage was “The Voice” finalist Tony Lucca, who performed a set of his own music. Former Mickey Mouse Club member Jennifer McGill accompanied him in a powerful duet.
A meet-and-greet with the entertainers once the show ended was a thrilling finale for fans, and for the former band members.
Band member Hampton recalls, “Seeing our fans again was like a lightning bolt to our souls. Seeing their faces light up again, and singing every word after all these years, was the medicine I didn’t know I needed.”
The Disney Channel formed the band in 1990, making it the first to be signed with Disney’s record label, Hollywood Records. To celebrate the milestone 30th anniversary, all of the band’s tunes from the ‘90s were released to all digital platforms, and two albums recently hit iTunes Pop chart’s Top 10.
But the concert did more than provide memories. It also raised money for the nonprofit Orlando charity, Give Kids The World Village, and for the Cast Member Pantry, formed by Disney cast member Emily Lartique in March, 2020.
The pantry was originally started to ensure no cast member would go hungry during layoffs due to the pandemic, and now continues its mission through ongoing events and fundraisers.
Hampton summed up the event, saying, “Hearing the stories of what our music has done for [fans,] or helped them through, is so special and powerful. We are so honored to have been their musical companion over the years, and bring people together again. That’s really why we do what we do.”
