Teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action ‘Mulan’ makes its debut

She’s here to bring honor to us all – Disney has released the teaser trailer for their next live-action reimagining, “Mulan.”

The film, based on Disney’s 1998 animated feature, was shot on location in China and New Zealand and is set to open in theaters on March 27, 2020.

Mulan” tells the epic story of a young woman who disguises herself as a man in order to fight Northern invaders attacking China. When the Emperor decrees that one man per family must serve China in the Imperial Army, Mulan steps in to take her ailing father’s place as Hua Jun, becoming one of China’s greatest warriors.

Liu Yifei (“The Forbidden Kingdom,” “Once Upon a Time”) plays the titular character, Mulan. Joining her in the film are Donnie Yen (“Star Wars: Rogue One”); Jason Scott Lee (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny”); Utkarsh Ambudkar (“Pitch Perfect”); Rosalind Chao (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”); Yoson An (“The Meg”); Ron Yuan (“Marco Polo”); Cheng Pei-Pei (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”); Tzi Ma (“Arrival”); Nelson Lee; Chum Ehelepola; with Gong Li (“Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Raise the Red Lantern”) and Jet Li (“Shaolin Temple,” “Lethal Weapon 4”).

“Mulan” is directed by Niki Caro (“Whale Rider,” “McFarland USA”), written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (“Jurassic World,” “In the Heart of the Sea”) and Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, based on the narrative poem “The Ballad of Mulan.”
