New Dippin' Dots store opens on I-Drive

If you’re headed down International Drive near Wet n’ Wild, you can now stop and chill out with a cup of Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream from Orlando’s new Dippin’ Dots location.

The store, located at Lighthouse Plaza (6400 International Drive, Suite 140), will celebrate with a grand opening from noon to 3:30 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008. The event will kick off with free ice cream and a free party gift bag for the first 50 guests. Other activities include face painting, arts and crafts and contests and giveaways. Prizes include T-shirts, beach towels, free ice cream and more. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet Packy, the Dippin’ Dots mascot.

The Lighthouse Plaza location offers more than two dozen flavors of Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream, Ice, Sherbet and Yogurt products. In addition, the store serves Dot Shakes, Floats, Sundaes and Solar Freeze grenade parfaits. For those who don’t know, Dippin’ Dots are tiny, cryogenically frozen beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice.

Dippin’ Dots franchisee Magdy Hakim chose to open a Dippin’ Dots store after some encouragement from his children. “It’s a great and unique product and my kids love it,” Hakim said. “The first time I tried it I was amazed.”
Hakim looks forward to opening additional Dippin’ Dots locations in the future. “We’re looking at two more locations in Central Florida,” Hakim said.
