New Grain & Grill restaurant opening at Kings Island
When Kings Island opens for the season on April 15, 2023, there will be a new Grain & Grill restaurant and a new executive chef at the Ohio amusement park.

This spring, Kings Island will add Grain & Grill, a fast-casual restaurant on International Street next to the current Starbucks location.

Grain & Grill will offer indoor dining with views of the Royal Fountain and a menu featuring Eastern European and Mediterranean flavors, including grilled and rotisserie meats like Moroccan chicken, glazed pork shoulder, and shrimp skewers. In addition, select menu items will be included in the park’s dining plans.
Joseph Perez, New Executive Chef for Kings Island
Kings Island also announced that Joseph Perez would become the park’s new executive chef. Perez recently served as the executive chef at Ameristar Casino and Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri.

“I’m excited to join the talented food and beverage team here at Kings Island and looking forward to helping the park continue to grow its menu options with fresh, locally sourced items,” Perez said. “I want families and friends visiting the park to be able to gather together around a table, have an excellent dining experience and make lasting Kings Island memories.”
The previous executive chef, James Major, became the regional chef for the amusement park’s parent company, Cedar Fair Entertainment. In Major’s new role, he will oversee multiple parks, but will continue to be involved with Kings Island’s food and beverage program.
Adventure Port
Grain & Grill will be one of several new food and drink options at Kings Island this season. The park previously announced Enrique’s quick-service restaurant and the portside Mercado, both of which will be located the new Adventure Port area opening this summer.
Adventure Port will also feature two new family rides: Sol Spin and Cargo Loco, and the area will gain enhanced theming for Adventure Express, the family-friendly mine train roller coaster.
