Hooten Young is a premium cigar and whiskey business focused on honoring the United States military. It was created by former Special Operations Soldier, Master Sgt. Norm Hooten and Tim Young. You may be familiar with Norm Hooten’s American heroism if you’ve seen the film “Black Hawk Down,” where he was portrayed by Eric Bana.
The pair worked with Wine Bar George’s Master Sommelier George Miliotes to create a smooth new American Whiskey, aged 12 years with notes of maple, apple and vanilla. Miliotes utilized a rare distillation process, distilling the spirit to 189 proof, barreling it at 140 proof and finally bottling the whiskey at 92 proof with second fill barrels.
“It’s been an honor to assist Norm and Tim to create a whiskey that is evocative of their background and seeks to honor America’s heroes,” said Miliotes.
Miliotes worked with Walt Disney World Resort to create his wine bar at Disney Springs, the very first sommelier-led wine bar in the state of Florida. As one of only 269 master sommeliers in the entire world, he brings an impressive level of expertise to the restaurant.
Guests can visit Wine Bar George now to taste Hooten Young’s new American Whiskey, along with a selection of over 140 hand-picked wines and an assortment of food pairings.
