Believe it or not, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! has launched a new online store where “seeing is believing, and it’s rude not to stare.” Based on a daily newspaper cartoon in 1918, the Ripley’s collection and the exclusive merchandise available in the online shop were inspired by stories of people and places that may be hard to believe – or not.
One of the most iconic exhibits in Ripley’s 25,000-piece collection is, of course, the mascot of the unbelievably weird: the Shrunken Head. There’s no doubt that no Ripley’s wardrobe would be complete without one of these oddities showing its face – or in the case of the Shrunken Head Mascot Socks, two.
While your high school yearbook may be packed with colorful characters, nothing can compare to the Ripley’s Class of 1918. So, it’s no surprise that the colorful “Ripley’s Class of 1918” shirt features an eclectic group that includes the world’s tallest man and a two-headed cow, but that’s not the only “must-have” apparel item available in the store.
The “Required Reading” shirt features a classic Ripley’s cartoon panel hot off the presses, and the “Champs & Chumps” shirt hearkens back to the first-ever Ripley’s Believe It or Not! panel. From a backward 100-yard dash to four hours of jump rope, it’s hard to beat these unbelievable feats.
In addition to apparel, the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! online store also offers “Odds & Ends” totes and mugs with artwork from “Required Reading,” “Class of 1918,” and the simple, but of course, strange “Get Weird.”
The store’s book collection (fulfilled by Amazon) includes “WTF (Weird True Facts)” that looks at weird but true facts about science, and “Mind Blown!,” the 17th book in the bestselling series from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! that’s filled with such unbelievable stories and photos that it will undoubtedly do precisely what its title promises (Release Date: Sept. 29, 2020).
