Nicolas Cage to fight off theme park terrors in ‘Wally’s Wonderland’

Nicolas Cage is set to star in a new genre film that takes place inside a haunted theme park filled with killer animatronics, titled “Wally’s Wonderland.”

As reported by Dateline, Cage will play a janitor who is forced to spend the night in this macabre amusement park that turns into a waking nightmare. Animatronic characters will come to life in search of blood, and the janitor will have to fight to survive ’till morning. Think “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” but rather than having to survive horrors at your childhood pizza establishment, these monsters wreak havoc inside a theme park.

“Wally’s Wonderland” will be directed by Kevin Lewis (“The Drop”) with a script written by G.O. Parsons, and released by Landafar Entertainment, JD Entertainment, Saturn Films, Almost Never Films, and Screen Media Ventures. Grant Cramer (“Lone Survivor”), Jeremy Davis (“The Street Racer”), and Danny Roth (“Anti-Life”) will produce alongside Cage and Mike Nilon. The film is scheduled to start production in late January 2020.

“For me, there was always one actor and one actor only who could make this movie work,” said Lewis in a quote to Deadline, “and that actor is Nic Cage. I’m thrilled to be working with him and can’t wait to see him go up against Wally and his gang of psychopathic misfits. I see this movie as ‘Pale Rider’ vs. ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space.'”

Stay tuned for more updates on this film once production begins.
