Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party returns for 2025 to California Adventure with villain characters like Maleficent and Syndrome.
This after-hours party hosted by Oogie Boogie from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” features rare Disney Villains in person at Disney California Adventure Park in Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif.
New Villain characters for Oogie Boogie Bash 2025
On Aug. 14, 2025, Disney officially revealed Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty” and Syndrome from “The Incredibles” will join Oogie Boogie Bash characters in 2025. This marks Syndrome’s first appearance in a Disney theme park.
Maleficent has been absent from the party for several years. Her return sets a precedent for rotating villains from year to year; Disney can attract attention to the party by not just introducing new characters, but removing others and waiting a few years for a grand return.

Madame Mim from “The Sword in the Stone” and Sid from “Toy Story” were part of character treat trails in previous years, but are not listed in Disney’s lineup for 2025.
Full list of Disney Villains appearing at Treat Trails for Oogie Boogie Bash 2025
During Oogie Boogie Bash Treat Trails, guests walk in a continuously moving line while a Disney villain stands on a distanced platform and interacts with passersby. You can walk semi-slowly as you approach the villain, but you won’t be able to pose with them for a photo like you would during a traditional meet & greet. Also on Treat Trails, as the name implies, cast members load your trick-or-treat bag up with candy and/or snacks.
The following Disney Villains will appear at various treat trails throughout Disney California Adventure during Oogie Boogie Bash 2025.
Hollywood Land
- Dr. Doofeshmirtz (“Phineas and Ferb”) | Disney Theater (typically home to the Disney Junior show)

This year’s event dates begin earlier than ever (beating 2024’s record of Aug. 25) and take place on more nights, with 32 (last year had 27).
Hours for Oogie Boogie Bash are 6-11 p.m., and party guests can enter California Adventure as early as 3 p.m. with just their party ticket (no regular daytime admission required).

Oogie Boogie Bash is part of Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort, which will take place Aug. 22 – Oct. 31, 2025 (though remember, Oogie Boogie Bash starts a few days ealrier than the official Halloween Time kickoff, with the first party date being Aug. 17).
