The delayed Phoenix Rising coaster sets opening date at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (update)
Phoenix Rising, the newest roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, will debut following a delay from its originally announced season.

Update, July 11, 2024: Busch Gardens reached out to let us know that Phoenix Rising is delayed again. The roller coaster will now open on July 21, 2024. Pass member previews will begin July 17.
The phoenix rises from the ashes
The Phoenix Rising roller coaster will officially open to all guests July 14, 2024 July 21, 2024 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in Florida, the park announced via social media.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay pass members will have an opportunity to preview the coaster the day prior, July 13 beginning July 17.
Additionally, as part of a VIP program called Passport to Thrills, Busch Gardens will host a Phoenix Rising preview for guests who visited the park at least five times earlier this year and tracked their visits with Guest Relations (as explained on the park’s website). Busch Gardens says guests who registered for Passport to Thrills should keep an eye out for their preview invitation.

The suspended coaster was manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) and reaches speeds of up to 44 mph. When the park announced Phoenix Rising last October, it mentioned a spring 2024 opening date. By late May, the park quietly began saying the coaster would open in the summer instead.
