Photographer captures stunning shots of Disney’s revamped Fantasmic!

Disney Parks are some of the most photogenic and Instagrammable places in the world. A high-powered camera, combined with a good eye, can let you capture the magic in the moment. Nick Lee, @walkingdownmainstreetusa on Instagram, was able to capture stunning shots of Disney’s newly revamped Fantasmic! show.

If you have ever tried to take photos at night, you know the difficulties of low-light photography. Now, add in strobes, fireworks, and fast-moving performers. Taking pictures of Fantasmic! is not easy (trust me I have done it), so when I saw these shots by Nick Lee, I knew I had to show them off.

One great part of a zoom lens is getting to see the expressions and passion of the characters, something that is harder to notice in person. Whether commanding water, doing high-flying stunts over Agrabah, or waving towards fans while onboard Steamboat Willie, these performers continually give it their all.

Fantasmic! features numerous iconic scenes, with the revamp adding more characters to the mix. Do you have a favorite act during this show?

You can’t mention iconic and Fantasmic! without the main cheese, Mickey Mouse, who has been performing in Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios since 1998.

I originally found these photos on the “Fans of WDW Performers and Beyond” Facebook group, a group that features images of Disney and Orlando’s best performances. This group is dedicated to amateur photographers “that love to take Performer/CM pics and share them in the group, so they (performers) can see their pics.”

This is a small dedicated group if you are looking to join a niche set of photography fans; however, I couldn’t mention Disney photography though without also mentioning “The Institute of Disney Photography.” This large fan group ranges from professionals to first-time photographers, all with one goal: taking Disney pictures.

Nick Lee, @walkingdownmainstreetusa on Instagram, has featured more than just Fantasmic! His work also gives us this one last look at the 50th anniversary at Walt Disney World as the resort now moves into the Disney100 celebration.
