Photos and ‘making of’ panel audio from ‘Rogers: The Musical’ at Disney California Adventure
What started as a fun moment on the Disney+ series “Hawkeye” lead to an epic musical number performed live at D23 Expo 2022. Now, “Rogers: The Musical” is a one-act musical being performed in the high-tech Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure. “Rogers: The Musical” is a classic tale of heroes, time travel and romance, featuring a talented cast of singers and dancers telling the story of Steve Rogers – Captain America, joined by Peggy Carter, Nick Fury and select members of the Avengers.
This new musical project has come to life through the creativity of Disney Live Entertainment in
partnership with book writer Hunter Bell, star and book writer of the Tony Award-nominated
“[title of show],” and features five all-new songs with music by Grammy-winning composer
Christopher Lennertz and lyrics by Jordan Peterson, Christopher Lennertz and Alex Karukas.
The show also includes fan-favorite songs “Save The City” from the Disney+ series
“Hawkeye” (written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman) and “Star Spangled Man” from the film
“Captain America: The First Avenger” (written by Alan Menken and David Zippel).
The creative direction for “Rogers: The Musical” transforms the Hyperion Theater stage for
each scene through a combination of layered two-dimensional scenery, physical set pieces and
the theater’s 2,200-square-foot video screen. The Avengers and other characters are portrayed
in representational costumes that offer a fun, more casual take on their iconic looks.
Disney merch collectors can get their hands on specialty “Rogers: The Musical” merchandise including a t-shirt, metal sign, magnet, and ornament.
There’s also specialty food available in celebration of the new stage musical including a Cap’n Everything Dog, Blue Cherry Hard Tea, Pastrami Pretzel Dog, Like an Apple Pie Pizza, and more. “Rogers: The Musical” is scheduled to perform several times per day, Tuesday through
