Photos and Video: Chocolate Easter Eggs on display at Disney’s Grand Floridian

Yes, it’s time to start thinking about Easter! It’s just over a month away on April 9, 2023, and if you’ve been to Disney’s Grand Floridian around this time in past years, you know they always have a grand display of Disney-themed chocolate Easter Eggs. This year’s debuted this morning.

New this year is an in-progress egg. One of the pastry chefs was doing a half color and half sketch egg, but took the opportunity to add a display where guests can watch it be colored by some of the chefs who are artistic with paints.

Returning for the second year is The Grand Cottage, where guests can purchase a variety of spring-time and egg-themed pastries such as a chocolate and peanut butter egg on a stick, Creme Cheese Carrot Coffee Cake, a cake pop that looks like a lamb, and much more.

There’s usually one chocolate egg that stands out from the rest and this year it’s Kevin from “Up!” and her babies. Pastry Chef Assistant Fabi Vidal created this more than six-foot-tall bird using 1,968 “feathers”. She came up with the idea after visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom and watching Kevin meeting guests. Vidal also made the large egg carousel last year, and the “Up!” house a previous year. (We have a feeling she likes the movie “Up!”.)

The chocolate Easter eggs will be on display in the resort’s lobby until a few days after Easter. Anyone is welcome to visit the Grand Floridian Resort to see the display, although parking is sometimes limited to guests staying there or those with restaurant reservations. The resort is on the monorail loop from the Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center parking lot.

Our photo gallery of each egg is below and we have interviews with three of the pastry chefs in the video above.
