Premiere dates announced for upcoming Disney+ series ‘The Bad Batch,’ ‘Loki,’ and more

At today’s Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Disney+ revealed premiere dates for some of the highly-anticipated series coming to the streaming service this year, including “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” and more.

“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” will make its debut on the special premiere date of Tuesday, May 4, 2021, with the second episode premiering on Friday, May 7. New episodes to follow will premiere on Fridays.

The animated series will follow the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch—first introduced in season 7 of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”—as they find their way in a changing galaxy in the aftermath of the Clone War.

The next high-profile Disney+ release to get a premiere date is Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” set for Friday, June 11. Tom Hiddleston returns as the titular character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.

July will see three new series premiere on Disney+: “Monsters at Work,” “Turner & Hooch,” and “Chip ‘N’ Dale: Park Life.”

“Monsters at Work,” which premieres on Friday, July 2, takes place the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant moves to harvesting children’s laughter to fuel the city of Monstropolis. The show will follow the story of Tylor Tuskmon, newly-graduated from the top of his class at Monsters University with dreams of being a Scarer, as he gets a job at Monsters, Incorporated and finds that scaring is out and laughter is in.

Ben Feldman stars as the voice of Tylor, alongside Henry Winkler as Fritz, the scatterbrained boss; Lucas Neff as Duncan, an opportunistic plumber; and Alanna Ubach as Cutter, the officious rule follower. Billy Crystal and John Goodman will also appear as Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan.

The reboot-sequel “Turner & Hooch,” premiering Friday, July 16, stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner, the son of Detective Scott Turner portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 1989 film of the same name. In the show, Turner, an ambitious US Marshall, inherits a huge unruly dog that he may not have wanted, but will soon realize the canine is just the partner he needs.

The final premiere for July, “Chip ‘N’ Dale: Park Life” will see the two tiny troublemakers trying to live the good life in a city park while having giant-sized adventures. Premiering on Friday, July 23, Chip and Dale will be joined by Pluto, Butch, and other iconic Disney characters as they face down bullies great and small in 36 seven-minute episodes.
