Join Princess Cruises for world-record attempt of largest vow renewal at sea

Princess Cruises is inviting couples from around the world to renew their vows onboard Regal Princess in 2020 in an attempt to set the world record for the largest vow renewal at sea.

Gavin MacLeod, who portrayed Captain Stubing on ABC’s “The Love Boat,” will officiate the ceremony, and Jill Whelan, who portrayed his daughter Vicki, will serve as matron of honor for the ceremony. This world-record attempt will take place on the Feb. 9-16, 2020 sailing of the Regal Princess. The ship will sail round-trip from Ft. Lauderdale, visiting Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and the cruise line’s private beach, Princess Cays.

“I’m honored to be officiating this ceremony and can’t think of a better way to celebrate and commemorate a couple’s love, than by reaffirming their commitment to one another onboard the ‘Love Boat’ over Valentine’s Day,” said MacLeod, who is also a Princess Cruises ambassador.

“It wouldn’t be a Princess cruise unless there’s romance,” said Whelan. “We invite couples of all ages to join us for this celebration of love on the high seas.”
