Red Car Trolley News Boys show closing at Disney California Adventure
The Red Car Trolley News Boys are packing up their suitcases and dreams, as the long-running street show is putting on its final performance on July 23 at Disney California Adventure.
The show originally debuted in 2012 with the grand reopening of Disney California Adventure, and featured a gang of paperboys and Mickey Mouse hoping to go from a nobody to a somebody in California – just like Walt Disney.
Songs in the show evoked a classic 1920’s style, offering guests nostalgia for a bygone era – and even the iconic Newsies song “Seize the Day.”
The show featured the cast riding in to Buena Vista Street on a Pacific Electric Red Car Trolley, but since the construction of the park’s upcoming Marvel-themed land forced the trolley to close, an adapted version of the show became the new normal.
However, due to current viewership trends for the show and continuing construction, the park has chosen to close the show.
You can see the Red Car Trolley News Boys show’s final performance on July 23, 2019. There is no word on whether the show will return after construction on the Marvel land is complete.
