Rise of the Resistance virtual queue to be available outside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World has shared a virtual queue update for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that is likely to take the stress off of your next excursion to Batuu.

Starting Nov. 3, here’s how the virtual queue process will work for the attraction:

  • Guests with a valid ticket or Annual Pass and a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to access the virtual queue and check for an available boarding group starting at 7 a.m. on the day of their reservation.
    • This can be done before you leave your Disney resort hotel, or wherever else nearby you might be at that time.
  • The virtual queue will reopen daily at 2 p.m. as usual for anyone who wasn’t able to join a boarding group earlier in the day.
    • Keep in mind that guests must be inside the park to access the second virtual queue opportunity, and access to a boarding group is not guaranteed.

Guests are able to join the first virtual queue of the day without having to be on Disney property as long as they have a valid ticket and Park Pass reservation, so locals will definitely get some use out of this new update:

In addition, clear barriers have been added between the two rows of seats on every First Order Fleet Transport vehicle inside the attraction – allowing for increased guest capacity each day.

The virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is only accessible through the My Disney Experience mobile app, which you can learn more about here.

  1. It’s a good step in the right direction!! This states the virtual queue can be done at 7am on the day of your reservation “before you leave your resort hotel, or wherever else nearby you might be at that time.” Is there any more definitive information about how close “ nearby” is? That is a bit vague.

    Thanks!

    1. We’ve updated our post with some clarification on what “nearby” means – you should be able to book your virtual queue spot at the start of the day from home so long as you have a valid theme park ticket and Park Pass reservation!
