SandSerpent roller coaster being retired at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

After years of family-friendly turns, drops, and wild mouse maneuvers, SandSerpent at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is being permanently retired. Riders have just a few more weeks to enjoy this coaster before it closes forever.

SandSerpent is one of 10 roller coasters at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Its retirement is part of new addition plans for the Pantopia area of the park. Those plans have not yet been revealed, but with Busch Gardens’ consistent fast construction speed, we will probably know what is coming by the end of the year.

Annual Pass Members can get exclusive early ride times on SandSerpent from June 30 to July 4. Pass Members and single ticket visitors can both take advantage of the current ongoing event, Summer Nights.
