SeaWorld Orlando has unveiled a series of new, fun-packed surprises for its annual family-friendly Spooktacular, which starts on September 17, 2022.

The park’s seasonal celebration features a full-scale trick-or-treat extravaganza for kids, with enhanced sweet treat stations among the festivities during the day each Saturday and Sunday (and including Fridays from October 7 to October 31).

Another highlight is the all-new Scarecrow Dance Party in the Journey to Atlantis plaza, where DJs provide the music and SeaWorld’s Scarecrows show off their dance moves during select performance times.

Guests can also meet a friendly Halloween mermaid along the Trick-or-Treat Trail, wander through the Pumpkin Garden looking for pumpkin fish, and encounter the Pumpkin Queen as she reads stories.

More new features include the Spooktacular Scavenger Hunt, with the purchase of a scavenger hunt map to follow the clues to win prizes, and a Cookie Decorating and Craft area, located between Sesame Street Land and Wild Arctic (cookie decorating kit at an additional price).

Children will also enjoy Count von Count’s Spooktacular Breakfast at the SeaFire Grill, where they can get photos, autographs, and hugs from their favorite Sesame Street characters, while Storytime with Big Bird will take place at select times throughout the day at Big Bird’s Nest in Sesame Street Land.

New scrumptious sweet treats will be on sale, as SeaWorld has teamed up with a popular Orlando-based doughnut shop to create a unique doughnut for the Spooktacular, and the park’s chefs have concocted a special Halloween dish, their own version of a “dirt cup” made with chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, Oreo dust, and gummy worms.

All guests are encouraged (but not required) to dress up in costumes (no masks or hoods for those 13 and older), but face painting is not permitted unless done by park artists. Costumed guests can also enter a costume contest at the Journey to Atlantis Plaza each Friday during the Spooktacular, with the chance to win a special prize.

SeaWorld’s Spooktacular is free with regular park admission, but guests must purchase a signature reusable trick-or-treat bag – available at the entrance of the Trail – to collect their candy goodies.

Guests who purchase a 2023 Fun Card will also enjoy free visits to SeaWorld Orlando for the rest of 2022 and all of 2023.

And don’t forget that night-time brings the terror at SeaWorld, with the return of the Howl-O-Scream Halloween program, with its intense haunted houses and scare zones (not recommended for children under 12).
