SeaWorld San Antonio to be open year-round in 2021

by Attractions Magazine Staff

For the first time in over 10 years, SeaWorld San Antonio will operate year-round! Starting in January 2021, guests can enjoy 12 straight months of fun, including the return of Wild Days in January, and—new for this year— Mardi Gras festivities in February.

The attractions and events at the park have been modified to limit capacity and offer guests a safe experience. IN addition to enhancing the park’s health and safety measures—including increased cleaning and sanitation, temperature checks, and required face coverings—daily capacity will be significantly limited to create even more open space for guests to maintain physical distancing.

Wild Days

Wild Days, a celebration of wild animals and wild coasters, will return on Saturdays and Sundays from Jan. 9-31. The park will feature conservation-themed events and up-close animal experiences with physical distancing in place. SeaWorld’s own Animal Ambassador team will make appearances, as well as guest animals from the San Antonio Zoo.

During Wild Days, SeaWorld will present “Flying High,” a live educational presentation that introduces guests to feathered friends from Last Chance Forever, an organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and return of sick, injured, and orphaned birds of prey – including a red-tailed hawk, a great horned owl, and an American bald eagle.

Mardi Gras

From Feb. 6-28, SeaWorld San Antonio will bring Mardi Gras to South Texas for the first time ever! Guests can celebrate all month long throughout the park as it offers a New Orleans-style carnival complete with live music, costumes, and Mardi Gras-infused and inspired chef-created cuisine like jambalaya, po-boys, shrimp and andouille skewers with dirty rice, and beignets.

Guests will also be able to indulge in a variety of Mardi Gras-themed specialty cocktails, including the famous Hurricane and a lineup of Daiquiris, as they dance in the streets and let the good times roll!

Reservations to visit the park are required and limited, and can be made at SeaWorld.com/San-Antonio.
