SeaWorld San Antonio opening for 2020 season Feb. 22

SeaWorld San Antonio is gearing up to open for its 2020 season this Saturday, Feb. 22, looking forward to a year full of thrills, events, and fun for the whole family.

New for this year is Texas Stingray, the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in Texas. SeaWorld Annual Pass Members can enjoy exclusive ride times during opening weekend on Feb. 22-23 before the ride officially opens to all guests on Feb. 29. On that day, guests can attend a special grand opening event that includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony, special guests and local entertainment.

Aquatica’s 2020 season will kick off on Saturday, March 7 with the debut of the new Tonga Twister. This body slide features two slides with their own twists and turns, as well as AquaLucent lighting and high-energy music.

Sesame Street Kids’ Weekends will return March 21-22 and 28-29, where guests can join Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and more for hands-on activities, photo-ops, a live DJ and more in the Sesame Street Bay of Play area.

The park’s Seven Seas Food Festival will return to the park on April 3 with a new German realm, complete with cuisine, cultural elements, and music. The festival will host more than 100 globally-inspired dishes to enjoy alongside wines, craft cocktails, imported beers, live entertainment and more.

The Sesame Street Party Parade will return for the summer starting May 23, featuring 10 themed floats and all your favorite Sesame Street friends.

Summertime will light up with the return of Electric Ocean from June 12 – Aug. 9. This year’s event includes the newly-revamped water ski show “HydroPower: Xtreme FX,” which now includes lasers, fog effects, pyrotechnics, fireworks, and a live rock band. Those looking to cool down from the summer heat can hang at Chill Out, the park’s 50-degree club offering a menu of frozen treats, glow merchandise and a live DJ.

Bier Fest will return on weekends from Aug. 15 – Sept. 13, offering a lineup of more than 100 beers from around the world. The event will also offer festive music and authentic German food.

The family-friendly seasonal event Halloween Spooktacular will return on weekends from Sept. 18 – Nov. 1, encouraging kids to wear their costumes and enjoy Halloween-themed attractions and shows, the Sesame Street Halloween Parade, and trick-or-treating throughout the Bay of Play area.

For grown-ups, Howl-O-Scream will transform the theme park into a scream park on weekends from Sept. 18 – Nov. 1 with haunted houses, live shows, themed bars, and scare zones known as Terror-tories.

Inside Look will be back on Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14-15, offering guests the chance to go behind the scenes and visit the park’s animal care facilities. These visits will be offered during normal park hours and are included with park admission.

SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration will return on select nights from Nov. 21 – Jan. 3, 2021 with the largest holiday light display in Texas with over 9 million lights. Also returning will be the Sesame Street Christmas Parade, Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and friends, and more.
