SeaWorld San Diego’s Christmas Celebration to feature all-new ice skating show

SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration is gliding into SeaWorld San Diego with a variety of new and returning offerings for everyone to enjoy.

Running from Nov. 23, 2019 through Jan. 5, 2020, this year’s event will feature a brand-new ice skating spectacular, as well as a cirque-style take on the classic traditional ballet, “The Nutcracker.” Other new offerings for this year include the Sesame Street Christmas Village and the Tunnel of Lights.

Winter Wonderland on Ice – NEW

This ice skating spectacular will feature 15 of the nation’s top skaters, including USA National and International team member, Brandon Mroz. This show will be performed nightly at SeaWorld San Diego’s outdoor Nautilus Amphitheater, with over a dozen routines skated to holiday songs.

Cirque Christmas – NEW

In collaboration with Cirque du Soleil NextGen, “Cirque Christmas” is a combination of ballet performances from “The Nutcracker” and Russian bar, Lyra, and teeterboard acts alongside high-energy hip-hop dance.

Sesame Street Christmas Village – NEW

Your favorite friends from Sesame Street will join Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves at the new Sesame Street Christmas Village. Guests can enjoy plenty of opportunities for hugs, photos, and more. Elmo, Grover, and Abby Cadabby, and even “Cookie Santa” (Cookie Monster dressed as Santa) are just a few of the characters that guests can encounter.

Tunnel of Lights – NEW

Park guests walking between the Explorer’s Reef and Ocean Explorer areas can take a unique detour through the new, 140-foot Tunnel of Lights, featuring more than 5,000 sparkling lights.

Rudolph’s Christmastown

SeaWorld San Diego will be the only place to meet the most famous reindeer of all this holiday season. Guests can also have photo opportunities with Rudolph, Clarice, Bumble, and Yukon Cornelius.

Santa’s Cottage

After making a reservation, the whole family can enjoy “Merry Moments” with Santa’s elves, storytime with Mrs. Claus, and sweet treats like kettle corn, hot chocolate, and cinnamon rolls. A texting service will let families know when it’s time for their child or children to meet Santa himself. A “Priority Santa” package is also available, which guarantees a specified time with Santa and includes photos.
