Designed to look like a stack of antique books, the new popcorn tin is topped with a copy of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility” that opens to reveal the popcorn compartment. Since its reveal, the design has prompted an unusually consistent reaction online: People who say they have never wanted a collectible popcorn bucket suddenly want this one.

Where to get the ‘Sense and Sensibility’ popcorn bucket
The “Sense and Sensibility” popcorn bucket will be available at select Regal theaters beginning Oct. 14, two days before the movie’s nationwide theatrical release on Oct. 16. The in-theater purchase comes with a large popcorn, though Regal has not yet publicly listed a price for the collectible.
Fans who do not want to take their chances at the theater can also order the bucket through Fandango. The “I Require So Much Bundle” costs $44.99 and includes the collectible popcorn tin along with a promotional code redeemable for one movie ticket. Unlike the Regal purchase, the Fandango bundle does not include popcorn and is shipped directly to the purchaser.
Call it sense, sensibility or simply good design, but this may be the popcorn bucket that finally wins over the bookish crowd.
