During the US Open tennis tournament, which is likely the last competition of her career, legend Serena Williams shouted to the cameras “I’m going to Disney World!” With that declaration, Walt Disney World Resort announced it would host a farewell celebration for the tennis GOAT.

The first part of those celebrations is a fun TV spot and social media video that pays homage to Williams’ historic career, including archival footage over the years, shots of her playing tennis as a child, and, of course, her last competition at the US Open.

Then, in the coming weeks, Williams will head down to Florida for a one-day celebration in her honor at Walt Disney World. Details are so far scarce, but Disney Parks said the celebration will include “toe-tapping entertainment and a festive atmosphere befitting one of the greatest eras in sports.”

And, like many other sports superstars who’ve celebrated their wins and careers at Disney World, there will be iconic Disney characters joining the celebrations.

Almost every year, team members of the Super Bowl winners visit Walt Disney World for a day of celebration, including a special parade in the Magic Kingdom. Last year it was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including quarterback Tom Brady. Brady is no stranger to Walt Disney World celebrations after winning seven Super Bowls.
