“We are pleased to create this new alliance with McDonald’s China to bring Disney magic to more consumers beyond the resort,” said Shanghai Disney Resort President and General manager Joe Schott. “Both brands are committed to creating happiness, and together with McDonald’s China, we look forward to further creating cherished and unforgettable moments for even more families.”

The first limited-time promotion from Shanghai Disney and McDonald’s features a series of seven uniquely-designed McDonald’s Happy Meal products available through March 29, 2022, as part of Shanghai Disneyland’s yearlong 5th Birthday celebration. The exclusive Shanghai Disney Resort-themed Happy Meals are available at select McDonald’s restaurants for a limited time, on a first-come, first-served basis, and are subject to availability. In addition, guests at McDonald’s restaurants across Mainland China have the chance to win resort products and experiences.

Each Happy Meal in the series features a classic Disney character on an adventure in one of Shanghai Disneyland’s seven themed lands, including Mickey Mouse driving a train locomotive inspired by Shanghai Disneyland’s Mickey’s Storybook Express; Minnie Mouse on the Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure; Donald Duck flying high with Dumbo; and Daisy Duck on the guest-favorite Soaring Over the Horizon attraction. Each toy is available at select times during the limited release, and when all seven toys are collected, they can be connected to create a train set.

“At McDonald’s, we encourage imagination and opening up a world of possibilities for every child. We are thrilled to collaborate with Shanghai Disney Resort to launch the new Happy Meal toys, bringing the excitement of a day out in the resort into our iconic Happy Meal,” said Phyllis Cheung, McDonald’s China CEO. “With the alliance with Shanghai Disney Resort, we are confident that we will bring even more exciting and exclusive experiences to our customers.”

The first themed Happy Meal series marks the beginning of the multi-year collaboration between Shanghai Disney and McDonald’s China, which will allow guests to discover even more magical experiences in the future.
