RipQurl Blaster promises 550 feet of thrills as guests ride a raft along three uphill currents, three drops, and a fully enclosed helix.

“We are excited to debut RipQurl Blaster, which will be both a thrilling and refreshing experience for guests visiting this summer,” said Ramar Vaughan, general manager. “This is just one of many investments we’re making to be the DMV’s most convenient and enjoyable out-of-home experience for the whole family.”

The park didn’t specific an exact opening date for the RipQurl Blaster water coaster in its announcement. However, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Maryland opens for the season May 27, 2023.

New and Returning Special Events

Six Flags America re-opens April 1 for the 2023 season, and guests have a lot to look forward to in this year’s jam-packed calendar of special events.

First up is Scream Break, a new haunt event on select weekends in April. (Scream Break will also debut at other Six Flags parks nationwide.)

In addition, the park will host fireworks on the 4th of July and family-friendly Halloween activities for Kids Boo Fest. This year’s Fright Fest features two new haunts and two new scare zones. Over at Hurricane Harbor, the Viva La Fiesta party will return with Latin food and dancing.
