Each Saturday and Sunday, the Bowie, Maryland, amusement park that serves the D.C. area will offer guests a non-stop Latin-flavored celebration, with live entertainment, festive décor, and a tempting array of themed food flavors.

Park President Rick Howarth explained, “It’s time to let loose and get the summer started with this all-new entertainment and party spectacular. We take fun seriously and are focused on continuing to enhance our in-park experience with great limited-time events like Viva La Fiesta.”

Each weekend, the park will showcase live music, interactive dancing, and dancing competitions, with musical guests including Aurax and Pablo Antonia y La Firma.

Colorful set-piece decorations and enhancements will adorn Main Street 1776 with bunting, flags, and papel picado, affording photo ops throughout the park.

Viva La Fiesta will also introduce some bold food offerings through a whole new menu of specialty culinary delights. These include an expansive Taco Bar with a plethora of options and toppings, as well as sweets and treats like tostones, nachos con queso, mangonadas, churro, fresh pineapple, and more.

The festival is included with regular park admission, with tickets as low as $34.99 and opening hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guests can also get even better value by stepping up to a Summer Pass for just two payments of $27.50.

And Six Flags America—which reopened in March with a multi-million dollar list of improvements, including more than 1,000 feet of new wood coaster track, new shows, and dining options—will keep the summer excitement coming.

On May 27, the park introduces Power Hours, a one-night, limited-capacity event with DJs, lights, and the ultimate remix of all the biggest rides in the dark. Then, just in time for the official start of summer, Hurricane Harbor, the region’s largest water park, will open on May 28.
