Free Scavenger Hunt

The experience officially debuted May 5, 2024 at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort following several days of previews.

Players scour Storybook Circus for eight Smellephant statues, each with their own unique scent: popcorn, cotton candy, and more. Within the lore of Storybook Circus (the circus-themed neighborhood inside Fantasyland), Timothy Q. Mouse from “Dumbo” is recruiting you to be a “Whiff-sistant” in Dumbo’s new circus act.

The prize is a “Top-Nose Whiff-sistant” sticker. The activity is sponsored by Scentsy, the official fragrance of Disney World.

How to Play Smellephants on Parade

  1. Head to Storybook Circus in the back of Magic Kingdom, accessible by foot from Fantasyland or Tomorrowland, or by train via the Walt Disney World Railroad.
  2. Make your way to Big Top Souvenirs, the turquoise-colored tent (see navigation below).
  3. At the ticket booth outside of Big Top Souvenirs, pick up a Smellephants on Parade scavenger hunt map from a cast member.
  4. Search for Smellephants and mark each statue’s location on your map with a sticker. Enjoy each Smellephant’s unique scent!
  5. Return to the ticket booth outside of Big Top Souvenirs to receive a completion sticker (pictured below).

Scentsy also currently hosts the Blossoms of Fragrance outdoor exhibit at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, which continues now through May 27, 2024.

Separate from Scentsy, each Epcot festival hosts pay-to-play scavenger hunts — such as Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit and Remy’s Hide & Squeak — the prize of which is usually a small novelty item.

Storybook Circus Throwback

In light of Storybook Circus introducing a new experience, let’s flashback to some defunct entertainment from the area’s past. Who remembers when clowns performed in Magic Kingdom?
