Soarin’ at Epcot changes Eiffel Tower, World Celebration, Spaceship Earth lighting
Disney quietly implemented several changes to Soarin’ at Epcot, fixing a visual issue and updating the film’s finale.

Without fanfare or prior announcement, filmmakers corrected visuals in the Soarin’ ride at Walt Disney World’s Epcot. As of Nov. 20, 2024, the Orlando attraction now displays a less-leaning Eiffel Tower in its Paris scene, and its finale depicts present-day Epcot, with pre-2019 Future World replaced with the gardens of World Celebration, as seen in a POV from Laughing Place. Also in the updated version, Spaceship Earth is illuminated in its “Beacons of Magic” lighting package, which Disney installed in 2021.

Soarin’ previously distorted a view of the Eiffel Tower, and ended with a finale showing Epcot before Disney overhauled the park’s entrance area. Elements such as the Fountain of Nations and a series of canopies, displayed prominently in Soarin’ until now, have long since been removed from Epcot.

Soarin’ Around the World opened in 2016 at both Epcot and Disney California Adventure, replacing Soarin’ Over California, which had debuted in 2005 on the east coast and 2001 on the west coast. The California iteration of the attraction occasionally returns for limited-time engagements.
