As a result, the attraction will close for some time starting that day, as Walt Disney Imagineering begins to implement their ideas inside.

The new version of Spaceship Earth will focus on the story of humanity, following its journey from prehistoric humans to modern-day. Many of the ride’s iconic moments will be updated in new ways, and new scenes will be added to tell this redesigned story.

Along with the announcement, Disney shared concept art for the Egypt section of the attraction, which will be transformed with a “story light” that brings each scene to life in dynamic ways. You can take a better look at it below:

New narration will be added to the attraction, and guests will see how light plays a central role in our journey on Earth. There will also be a new musical score.
