Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers makes good on his promise to go to Disney World – Photos/Video

Super Bowl XLV’s Most Valuable Player, Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, made good on the promise he made just minutes after his win. He arrived at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on Monday afternoon, Feb. 7, 2011, and rode through the park with Mickey Mouse.

This article could have been titled “The Big Cheese Gives Some Big Cheese to the Big Cheesehead”, or “Super Bowl MVP Cuts the Cheese at Disney World”. After his quick ride ride down Main Street U.S.A. (under the threat of rain and under the gun to get to The Late Show with David Letterman in New York), Rodgers visited the Rose Garden where he was given a gift of cheese in the shape of a G (for Green Bay) as fans nearby chanted “cut the cheese”. He then quickly met with reporters and headed out.

Here’s our interview with Green Bay fans at the park, Rodgers’ ride with Mickey Mouse, Rodgers “cutting the cheese” and an interview with reporters:

Rodgers visit marked the continuation of a tradition that began in 1987 when New York Giants Quarterback Phil Simms proclaimed “I’m going to Disney World” in a television commercial spot right after Super Bowl XXI.

The Magic Kingdom Philharmonic Band provided a musical backdrop to the procession that included Minnie Mouse (decked out as a cheerleader), Chip ‘n’ Dale in referee garb, and “football Goofy” plus players from a central Florida NFL Youth Football team.
