After the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory on Sunday in Super Bowl LIV, the game’s MVP, Patrick Mahomes, finally had his chance to shout out that famous phrase: “I’m going to Disney World!”

Today, Feb. 3, Mahomes will travel from Miami, Fla. to Walt Disney World in Orlando to participate in a celebratory parade at Magic Kingdom after starring in Disney’s traditional Super Bowl TV commercial. This tradition began in 1987, when Disney celebrated the New York Giants’ Super Bowl win that year — and has been a dream of football players ever since:

Adding on to the special occasion, this year’s event will see the Disney Parks invite one Make-A-Wish child — Nathaniel, age 10, from Texas — to join Mahomes in the parade. In addition, 17 other Make-A-Wish children, whose wishes were to attend the Super Bowl, are also extending their wishes by visiting Magic Kingdom today. Disney has also announced that they will be making a $1 million donation in honor of Mahomes to Make-A-Wish.

Patrick Mahomes’ performance in the Super Bowl is now a part of Disney’s commercial, which is now airing on network and cable TV across the U.S., as well as on social media.

If you can’t make it to the parade today, don’t worry! The Disney Parks Blog will be livestreaming the parade, which starts at 2:40 p.m. Eastern. Watch with us below:
