Swim with mermaids at Orlando World Center Marriott
Looking to meet a mermaid outside a Disney theme park? Beginning in May, guests can swim with mermaids at Orlando World Center Marriott’s new glow pool parties in the resort’s lagoon-style pool.
Beginning in May 2023 and continuing through the end of the year, Orlando World Center Marriott guests can meet real-life mermaids at the resort’s Falls Pool on select Saturday nights. The glow events start at 7 p.m., and the mermaid swims start at 8 p.m.
“We’re always collecting ideas from our guests to determine how we can take their experience to the next level,” said Robert Bray, general manager at Orlando World Center Marriott. “Our goal is to create a one-of-a-kind experience that leaves a lasting impression for our guests. When we introduce new offerings like mermaid adventures, renovate our guest rooms, and add state-of-the-art amenities like River Falls, we leave our guests with a desire to come back time and time again, as well as share their experience with others.”
Mermaid Glow Pool Parties Include:
- A mermaid performance
- Meet & Greet and Photo op with the mermaids following their swim
- Live poolside DJ with lights and music
- Glow giveaways like necklaces and bracelets
- Glow face painting/airbrush tattoos
- Pool games like water balloon toss and relay races
- Themed arts and crafts
- Ending with the resort’s 10-minute nightly laser light show
Mermaid Glow pool parties are currently scheduled for May 13, May 20, July 29, Aug. 5, Aug. 12, Oct. 7, Nov. 25, Dec. 28, and Dec. 30, 2023.

What’s New at Orlando World Center Marriott
In addition to the new Mermaid Glow pool parties, the resort has just introduced Pitfalls BBQ & Moonshine, a new on-property quick-service location serving BBQ pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches and sides, moonshine drinks, and craft beers. Pitfalls BBQ & Moonshine is located between the resort’s two pools.
The resort has also renovated two additional dining options:
- Full-service Starbucks Coffee for more space and faster, more efficient service.
- Falls Pool Bar & Grill has new seating and tables for poolside lunch and dinner dining with a full grill menu and curated cocktails.
Special Events & Holidays
Guests can celebrate holiday weekends in 2023 at Orlando World Center Marriott with themed events like the Cinco de Mayo experience with a margarita bar crawl, guacamole-making seminar, food specials, and themed activities.
For Memorial Day, Independence Day, and New Year’s Eve, the resort offers family-friendly festivities, including on-site fireworks, barbecues, themed activities, and live music.

River Falls Water Park Celebrates First Anniversary
In March, Orlando World Center Marriott marked the first anniversary of River Falls Water Park. The park features three inner tube water slides, a 575-foot-long lazy river, a patio with lounge chairs, cabanas, and a refreshment station called The Cargo Bar.
River Falls compliments the renovated zero-entry lagoon-style Falls Pool, which has waterfalls, sun shelves, cabanas and daybeds, two 200-foot winding waterslides, a 90-foot speed waterslide, four jumbo TVs, and a kid’s splash zone.
