Takumi-Tei restaurant to open summer 2019 in Epcot’s Japan pavilion

by Brittani Tuttle

A new table service restaurant is coming to the Japan pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase this summer called Takumi-Tei.

This new addition will offer guests a signature dining experience inspired by the natural beauty of Japan. Takumi-Tei means “house of the artisan,” and the restaurant’s design will celebrate the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world.

The restaurant’s menu will be inspired by the collaboration between nature and the artisan. The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef, and guests looking for the ultimate experience will be able to try a multi-course tasting menu with traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will also be available, along with a wine and craft beer menu.

Takumi-Tei will open in the Japan pavilion at Epcot this summer, and will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, which also runs the merchandise, restaurants, and kiosks in the pavilion. Stay tuned for more updates on this new restaurant as its opening season approaches.
