“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” television show became a sensation on Prime Video, and now New York City’s iconic Plaza Hotel lets fans experience the glamour of Midge’s life, 1950s style.
The show’s leading lady, Miriam “Midge” Maisel, rose from housewife to household name with her edgy comedy and gritty determination, all while impeccably dressed and without a hair out of place.
Now, for a limited time, the Plaza Hotel in New York City is offering a luxurious “Midge Menu” Afternoon Tea and a Mrs. Maisel-themed suite, immersing visitors in the Golden Age of 1950s and 1960s entertainment through settings worthy of the glamorous star.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the fourth season of the series, which is scheduled to premiere on February 18, 2022, exclusively on Prime Video. Now through March 13, the Plaza Hotel will be serving its Midge Menu afternoon tea, and the elegant Mrs. Maisel Suite will be available through April 10.
The Midge Menu at The Palm Court
New York City’s timeless destination for afternoon tea sets the scene for Pastry Chef Matthew Lambie’s Mrs. Maisel-inspired creation, the Midge Menu, which draws on classic tea offerings from the era and gives them an elevated twist.
The three-tiered tea service will include savory bites, such as a refined deli-style pastrami tea sandwich on rye, and a beet infused deviled egg. Sweets include a macaron based on the renowned black-and-white cookie; Lekach-esque honey spiced cake; yuzu and lemon meringue pie; and chocolate Nutella babka cheesecake, which combines two of the Big Apple’s most famous desserts.
The Midge Menu is priced at $99 per person, and reservations are required. To book, call 212-546-5300 or email [email protected].
All hotel guests are welcome to explore a series of glass display cases around The Palm Court, featuring a selection of props and costumes used in season four of the show.
