Third Disney Springs parking garage to open in 2019

Construction starts in 2017 on a third Disney Springs parking garage.

It seems like the cement has barely dried on the first two parking garages at Disney Springs, but Walt Disney World is already planning to begin construction next year on a third Disney Springs parking garage for a projected 2019 opening.

Over the past couple years, Walt Disney World’s shopping and dining complex replaced several surface parking lots with its massive new Lime and Orange parking structures, as part of the transformation from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs. Now there’s word that the Reedy Creek Improvement District (the quasi-governmental organization that oversees Disney’s property) will start construction in 2017 on a yet-unnamed third parking garage located across from Disney Springs near the Casting and Speedway parking lots, along with a pedestrian bridge spanning over Buena Vista Drive.

The new garage will contain approximately 2,000 parking spaces for use by guests and cast memebers, and will feature the same indicator system used in the first two garages to locate empty spaces.

Don’t get your engines revved quite yet, because work on the third Disney Springs parking garage won’t be done until 2019. In the meantime, watch this episode of Magic City Mayhem from July highlighting the new Disney Springs parking garages:
