Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening June 28 at Magic Kingdom

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is Almost There

The indoor/outdoor log flume attraction is inspired by 2009’s “The Princess and the Frog.”

The June 28 opening date refers only to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park, located in Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla. The ride will also debut later this year at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. Disney has not announced a specific opening date for the west-coast version.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure invites guests to join beloved characters Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, Louis, and all-new friends on a thrilling adventure, all set against the music and excitement of a New Orleans celebration. This new attraction will feature dozens of Audio-Animatronics figures, a foot-tapping soundtrack, and a celebration where everyone’s welcome.

Disney recently shared a preview of some of the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Audio-Animatronics figures:

The attraction stars the original voice cast from “The Princess and the Frog,” including Disney Legend Anika Noni Rose as Tiana, Bruno Campos as Naveen, Michael-Leon Wooley as Louis, and Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie.

Sneak Peek on American Idol

The opening date appeared the morning of May 12, 2024 on Disney’s press site. Disney will also share a sneak peek of the attraction in the May 12 episode of “American Idol,” airing at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streaming May 13, 2024 on Hulu.

Not far from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Country Bear Musical Jamboree will also open this summer at Magic Kingdom. Disney has not revealed an opening date for this new version of the former Country Bear Jamboree, which closed last January.

In the long term, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be joined by an expansion “beyond Big Thunder” at Magic Kingdom, though Disney has yet to reveal details for that project.

Disney first announced Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in June 2020. Splash Mountain closed in January 2023 in Florida and May 2023 in California.

Last month, Tiana began greeting guests at the 1900 Park Fare character meal at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, dressed in her adventure costume she’ll wear in the attraction.
