Throughout 2024, Tokyo Disney Resort is celebrating favorite characters one at a time through a series of festivals called Disney Pal-Palooza. Minnie Mouse kicked things off at the top of the year, and next up, it’s Donald’s turn.

Donald’s Quacky Duck City will take over Tokyo Disneyland Park from April 9 – June 30, 2024. The event will feature Donald-centric décor, food, entertainment, and even nearby hotel rooms, plus the Tokyo debut of a classic Disney character.

Welcome to Duck City

Duck City is Tokyo Disneyland as Donald would design it. This is “Donald’s ideal world where he reigns supreme as the ultimate superstar,” Disney said.

This credo will start before guests even set foot into the park. For generations, Donald has rallied his own personal campaign against Mickey Mouse, and now Disney will finally afford a bit of real estate to the duck that formerly belonged to that other guy.

As part of Donald’s Quacky Duck City, Donald’s face, not Mickey’s, will appear in the floral arrangement outside World Bazaar.

Inside World Bazaar, Donald will rival the Partners statue of Mickey and Walt with a gold statue all his own.

Donald’s Parade

A new parade, entitled “Quacky Celebration ★ Donald the Legend,” will roll through Tokyo Disneyland once or twice daily throughout the Donald’s Quacky Duck City event.

Not only will Donald star in his very own parade, but his pals joining in on the celebration will be dressed in new outfits emulating the duck’s signature style. The parade will also feature the Tokyo Disney Resort debut of Pete, the longtime adversary (and occasional ally) to Mickey and pals. Pete first debuted in 2023 at Mickey’s Toontown in California.

“Quacky Celebration ★ Donald the Legend” will feature six floats and 65 performers. By the looks of Disney’s announcement, the parade sounds like Donald’s dream come true:

Disney friends, dressed in Donald’s iconic blue, white, and yellow, representing their deep admiration for Donald, will come together to celebrate Donald and his many talents that include being a movie star, chef, and more. As they join forces to honor Donald, he initially feels bewildered, but gradually becomes overjoyed with happiness. His friends continue to praise him, creating a festive atmosphere of excitement and celebration.

The parade route is pictured below, with yellow indicating where the procession will pause for a show stop. Reserved seating through Disney Premier Access will be available for purchase.

Quacky Duck City Merch

Event merchandise will include Quack Quack Sticks. They quack when shaken (as we all do). Disney encourages guests to shake their Quack Quack Sticks during performances of “Quacky Celebration ★ Donald the Legend.”

Other merch exclusives for Donald’s Quacky Duck City will include candies, a pouch, a folder, stickers, a postcard, and a towel.

Throughout the event, guests can vote for their favorite designs to appear on new merchandise. First up, a tote bag will feature either Donald with Mickey, or Donald with his fellow members of the Three Caballeros (Panchito and José), depending on the winning design.

Donald’s 90th Birthday

Donald’s Quacky Duck City isn’t a birthday celebration, but it might as well be. Donald’s 90th birthday is June 9, 2024, recognizing the day of his screen debut. The character first appeared in “The Wise Little Hen,” a 1934 short film in Walt Disney’s “Silly Symphony” series. It’s viewable on Disney+.
