Top 10 Attractions Magazine YouTube videos of 2019
This year saw a lot of major openings in Central Florida’s theme parks and beyond, and we were there to bring you coverage of it all. Here’s a look back at the Top 10 videos from our YouTube channel in 2019!
NOTE: Many of our most popular videos this year were uploaded in past years, but unless noted, these videos represent the top 10 that were posted in 2019.
10. Nickelodeon Universe Overview – American Dream in New Jersey
After over 15 years of development, American Dream in New Jersey opened this year with the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere, Nickelodeon Universe. Unlike the version inside the Mall of America, which was repurposed from an existing indoor theme park, this Nickelodeon Universe is the first to be built from scratch.
9. Full Attraction Experience – Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
One of the biggest attractions to open in 2019, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance changed the game when it comes to theme park attractions. From the moment guests step into the first pre-show room, they are immersed into an experience that lasts 15-20 minutes and includes several different ride systems.
8. Highlights from Disney On Ice presents Road Trip Adventures
Disney on Ice continues to be popular with YouTube viewers with the debut of this year’s traveling production, Road Trip Adventures. This show marked the Disney on Ice debut of Bo Peep and Forky from “Toy Story 4.”
7. Full Ride-Through: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance POV at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
The actual ride portion of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is groundbreaking in its own right, incorporating three different ride systems, advanced Animatronics, and special effects that have to be seen in person to be believed.
6. Full Millennium Falcon Ride Walkthrough at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – We crashed it!
2019 was definitely the year for Star Wars in the parks with the debut of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The first attraction to open with the land was Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and we may or may not have crashed the space freighter during our ride.
5. Building a droid inside the Droid Depot at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge features several gift shops, one being the Droid Depot. Guests visiting here can create their own custom R-Series or BB-unit droid that can interact with different aspects of Batuu.
4. Jurassic World Live Tour Preview
Feld Entertainment, the creators of Disney on Ice, created a new live touring production in 2019 based on the “Jurassic World” films. The show features several larger than life dinosaurs and special effects.
3. Toy Story 4 interactive toys fall down when told “Someone’s coming”
It’s the simple things that get the most attention. A new toy debuted this year along with “Toy Story 4” that features Woody and Buzz reacting to someone saying “Andy’s coming” by falling down.
2. Naked Glitter Farting Troll at Universal Orlando
Sometimes, you just can never predict things. This meet-and-greet was not announced ahead of time and started with no warning one day at Universal Studios Florida. Poppy and Branch from the animated film “Trolls” had appeared in the park before, but the glitter troll Guy Diamond debuted this year. Just like what he does in “Trolls,” Guy farts glitter in front of unsuspecting park guests… And that is a sentence we never thought we’d ever write.
1. Star Wars Lightsaber Battle and Stunt Show in Galaxy’s Edge during media event
In less than a month, this special 4-part show held during the opening night media event for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has climbed to the top spot to become our most viewed video of 2019. Featuring a lightsaber battle between Rey and Kylo Ren, many believe these kinds of shows should be presented more often throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. What do you think?
