Trying the food options at Dezerland Park

Dezerland Park in Orlando provides plenty of opportunities to have fun. But did you know they provide a wide variety of dining options too? We made a visit recently to check out those dining options.

Front of Dezerland

Last week, Dezerland Park invited us out to sample a variety of Dezerland’s food and beverage options. I found myself fortunate enough to attend. As someone working primarily as a writer focusing on dining, this occasion felt like being a kid let loose in the candy store. As a result, I brought another food blogger with me to help evaluate the dining choices.

Dezerland serves as a top destination on International Drive in Orlando for family fun. However, they also present guests with over 10 different dining options within its facility. We have visited several of them on previous occasions, like MILK: The House of Cereal.

On this most recent occasion, we sampled several food and beverage items from the following places at Dezerland:

  • Vegiterreanian Bistro, a new option
  • 007 Bond Bar
  • Corner Burger
  • French Café
  • Amigo Burrito
  • Gilda (ice cream and candy).

Highlights of our Dezerland dining day

What happens when you send a food bloggers to Dezerland? As you might imagine, we tried lots of food. The rest of this article will focus on the highlights of the food we tried. Remember, we are describing our experience. Your experience could vary. We will focus on what most people prefer since food preferences can be very individual. The other food and beverages were good also. The food items mentioned below function as more memorable for our group.

Corner Burger

Dezerland corner burger

As the restaurant name indicates, this burger place resides at the corner spot of the Dezerland food court row. Our first food sample of the day was a “smashburger” from this restaurant.

In our experience, the bun and burger brought good quality for a fast-casual burger. We enjoyed the flavor. At least for the burger we were offered, guests will need to like onions. The onions enhance the burger nicely, but some guests might find them overwhelming.

Also, for clarification, we received a sample size of a burger at Corner Burger. The photo shows something much smaller than the burger you might order here. Overall, we agreed it made a reasonable choice in terms of value and flavor.

007 Bond Bar and Restaurant

007 bar

Our last dining stop of the day took us to the 007 Bond Bar and Restaurant. This James Bond-themed table service option at Dezerland creates a nice environment to enjoy a meal while taking a break from the other activities. It’s in the former Fuddruckers space. We found the service to be excellent. We chatted with the chef about several new menu items being rolled out. In fact, the chef even listened to our food blogger-style comments about how to improve the new menu items.

We tried three of the new menu items here. Those included:

  • Shrimp Tacos
  • Blackened Salmon Sliders
  • Mahi Mahi Tacos.

There were also some St. Louis-style ribs we did not try on this day.

In our group, we disagreed a bit about the sliders. I found them to be a refreshing change of pace to a typical slider. I think most guests will agree.

dezerland taco

The tacos received high marks from our group. The robust flavors within the tacos shined through. However, we did express concern about the tortillas not being strong enough to hold the contents of the taco. The chef agreed and had already pondered some solutions.

Overall, we enjoyed our dining adventure at Dezerland. Whether you want pizza, burgers, nachos, all-you-can-eat cereal, table-service dining, or something else, Dezerland has some dining options for you.
