If you’re going to be at Walt Disney World on April 22, there are two really fun and unique events you can attend at no additional cost.
April 22 is Earth Day and, by no coincidence, is also Animal Kingdom’s birthday. This year, Disney is celebrating Animal Kingdom’s 10th anniversary with a morning rededication ceremony at 8:40am in front of the Tree of Life, leading up to the park’s opening. Special guests at the rededication include Dr. Jane Goodall and Walt Disney World Resort President Meg Crofton.
If animals aren’t your thing or you’re just looking for a little extra magic, head to Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom when the park opens on April 22 for the announcement of Disney’s first-ever Chief Magic Official. Three finalists have been chosen and you can vote for your favorite starting on April 14 at DreamCMO.com. The winner of the contest will have a chance to represent Disney in its Florida and California parks, spreading magic along the way.
Unfortunately, it appears that the two events will be held simultaneously, so you can’t go to both!
