Chicago will be next location for Universal Horror Unleashed year-round haunt
Universal Horror Unleashed Chicago will bring the spooks of Halloween Horror Nights to a year-round venue.
Chicago, Ill. will be the next location for Universal Horror Unleashed, a year-round haunt attraction from the minds behind Halloween Horror Nights at the Universal theme parks. Universal Destinations & Experiences announced the news on June 26, 2025. The Chicago location for Universal Horror Unleashed will follow the inaugural venture in Las Vegas, Nev., opening Aug. 14, 2025.
Universal has not announced an opening date for Universal Horror Unleashed Chicago at the time of this writing. The Chicago location will reside on Chicago Avenue between the River North and West Town districts. The venue previously housed the Tribune Distribution Center.
Following the success of Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Horror Unleashed brings haunted houses, themed dining, and live entertainment to U.S. cities beyond Universal’s Orlando and Los Angeles parks. The Vegas location will feature four haunted houses (“Universal Monsters,” “Scarecrow: The Reaping,” “Blumhouse’s Exorcist: The Believer,” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”), seen in the trailer below.
