During opening and media preview night for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, a special four-part story took place throughout Galaxy’s Edge featuring an epic fight between the Resistance and the First Order.
Starting with two X-Wings flying over Batuu and jumping to lightspeed, Resistance spy Vi Moradi was tasked with stealing a data card from Kylo Ren’s TIE Echelon in Black Spire Outpost. She did so with the help of park guests warning her of Stormtroopers by making Porg calls.
On the way back to the hidden base, she was ambushed at Salju’s garage by First Order officers and Kylo Ren. Rey and other Resistance members showed up to help save the day, resulting in an epic lightsaber battle between Rey and Kylo. They ended the night with a celebration back by the parked X-Wing.
There’s no word if there will be any more shows, but you can watch our full video below of all four parts to the story.
Hey Banks, I can’t believe that all the effort that went into the X-Wing drones was for that 1 minute showing ?!( taking over parking lots building massive tents, top secret rehearsals) Ha
Man, There should be more shows like these, not just for media events but for the general public! They should really add more shows/entertainment to Galaxy’s Edge.
Heres an idea, Maybe They can monitor how much help a faction gets from guests using the datapad on The Disney Play app, and depending on which faction (Resistance, First Order and Smuggler) gets the most help at the end of the week a special show will be held for that faction.
For Example, if the Resistance wins we see Rey, Chewie, and Vi Moradi fight Kylo Ren and the StromTroopers (as seen in the video above.)
If The Smugglers win we see a show with Hondo congratulating everyone for helping him get the precious bounty.
If The First Order wins we see the Imperial Officers, StormTroopers and Kylo Ren thank guests for compliance and support for The First Order.
After whichever show is done the guests can get up close with the characters and take pictures with them.
