‘View Boston’ offers a lot more than just a view of historic Boston, Massachusetts

The next time you’re visiting historic Boston, Massachusetts, consider taking an elevator ride to the top of the Prudential Center and visit “View Boston”. This experience goes beyond simply a bird’s-eye view of the city. It also features interactive elements, a bar, restaurant, and more.

Your journey will begin on the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower where you’ll enjoy a 360 degree indoor view of Boston. It’s worth noting that I visited on a cloudy day, but still had a great view. The View Boston staff members fully warned us of the partial view, due to the weather, before tickets were picked up. I decided to try it anyway, and I’m glad I did. The views were much better than anticipated, so it seems like the staff errs on the side of caution to set realistic expectations. The warnings were very much appreciated.

While on the 52nd floor, you’ll see great views of Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) across the Charles River, the Hatch Shell where many famous music performances have delighted audiences, and so much more.

Throughout this floor you’ll find models of many of the landmarks while viewing the real structures in the distance. Additionally, there are Virtual Viewers where you can learn more about the city’s landmarks and attractions.

As your journey continues, you’ll head outdoors to the 51st floor and an open air panoramic view of the city. Also on this floor, you can stop and enjoy the fresh air with a beverage from Stratus. There you can sip on signature cocktails, enjoy the sunset, and take in the horizon from indoors and out.

One of the nice bonuses you receive at View Boston is different locations to scan your ticket in order to enhance your experience. In some cases, your photo is captured to be enjoyed later. At other times, the scan is gathering information about what interests you most in Boston. Both will pay off toward the end of your experience.

The restaurant features several dining options including lunch, a spirit-free experience, bistro bites, and a la carte dining.

Inside Boston 365, guests will be delighted by a 3D model of the city where projection-mapping rotates through the seasons, spirit, and celebrations that bring Boston to life. As I previously noted, there’s a lot more to View Boston than simply the view.

Of course, every good tourist location features a souvenir shop to remember your experience. But that’s not quite the end. Be sure and scan your badges and answer some questions at the finale kiosks to have a suggested itinerary emailed to you based on your answers and selections throughout the experience.

But what about those photos you scanned your tickets for? Be sure and look around the monitor walls of your elevator ride back down. Don’t be surprised if you see some familiar faces.

Overall, View Boston is a great way to take in majestic views of this historic city while learning about it along the way. I would suggest booking this experience toward the beginning of your visit as you’re sure to discover places you’ll want to visit before the end of your trip.
