Visit Orlando announces record 75 million visitors for 2018

Tourism officials and Visit Orlando announced this week that Orlando had a record-setting 75 million annual visitors in 2018, increasing 4.2 percent over the previous year.

Visit Orlando, the city’s official destination tourism and marketing organization, shared the news as part of National Travel & Tourism Week during a gathering of over 1,000 community and tourism leaders.

“It was another record-breaking year for Orlando with both domestic and international visitation,” said George Aguel, president and CEO of Visit Orlando. “We saw strong gains from all of our core countries, particularly from Latin America. Their success is a testament to the special appeal of our destination that continues to grow and evolve, as well as our strong commitment to strategic marketing initiatives.”

Orlando reached many travel milestones in 2018, including:

  • Record number of US visitors – 68.55 million
  • Record number of international visitors – 6.48 million
  • Record airline arrivals – Orlando International Airport (OIA) continues to be the busiest airport in Florida with 47.7 million passengers
  • Record international airline arrivals – OIA welcomed 6.6 million international passengers last year
